When we register domain names, we check comparable domain sales. Although this method isn’t a guaranteed method to price your recent registered domain name. However, it can give you a baseline as to what you can price it at if you are looking to flip domain names.
In fact, we can give you an example as to how we did this with a domain we registered. Our domain name, Acrylicrazor.com, the pricing was based upon recent relevant domain sales. Those comparable domains sold included shavingrazor.com, bikinirazor.com, polarisrazor.com and sonicrazor.com. To be fair, the domain shavingrazor.com is probably the top pricing model and the others fall below that, along with our domain name.
However, when you do a search for Acrylic Razor, and Acrylic Razors, you’ll see that there are shopping ads to purchase razors. Furthermore, on Etsy, you can check out their available acrylic razor selection.
As you can see, using comparable domain sales is a good point of reference to price your new domain name. But we do caution as we mentioned above that this should be your only point of reference. To see how comparable domains look to the domain you are registering, check this one out from GoDaddy.
